Logo is the basic identity for all kinds of business as everyone knows. ” A picture is equal to thousand  words“. This is a famous quote written by a famous artist. So while designing these unique  identities  the clients can be satisfied by following some of the rules mentioned below.

Rules To Follow While Designing A Logo :

1. 1. Do not use more than three colors.
2. 2. Get rid of everything that is not absolutely necessary.
3. 3. Type must be easy enough for your grandma to read.
4. 4. The logo must be recognizable.
5. 5. Create a unique shape or layout for the logo.
6. 6. Completely ignore what your parents and/or spouse think about the design.
7. 7. Confirm that the logo looks appealing to more than just three (3) individuals.
8. 8. Do not combine elements from popular logos and claim it as original work.
9. 9. Do not use clipart under any circumstances.
10. 10. The logo should look good in black and white.
11. 11. Make sure that the logo is recognizable when inverted.
12. 12. Make sure that the logo is recognizable when resized.
13. 13. If the logo contains an icon or symbol, as well as text, place each so that they complement one another.
14. 14. Avoid recent logo design trends. Instead, make the logo look timeless.
15. 15. Do not use special effects (including, but not limited to: gradients, drop shadows, reflections, and light bursts).

All the rules are not compulsory to follow, but it is an guide for the designers to plan a logo under the dark mind. As a logo designer i have followed these rules in order to complete successful logo designs for my clients.

In this tutorial we are going to learn how to create basic or simple logos using CorelDraw X3. I Have added a free video tutorial with this post so don’t miss it.

Just Open the CorelDraw X3 your desktop or your start menu.

Go to File>New.

Then change portrait to Landscape.

• Just draw a circle using Ellipse tool for the toolbox.
• Next select the Bezier tool and draw a line across this circle drawn.
• When you keep the Bezier tool on the circle edges we can find the quadrant of the circle automatically.
• So using this tips draw the line across the circle.

• Now select the line drawn on the circle using the shape tool and Right click the centre of the curve and select To curves.
• Then just bend the line as shown using shape tool and make curves as below.

• Now select the edges of the line draw using the Shape tool and press the shift key to select the node as shown in blue color.

• Now select the whole circle with the pointer tool.
• Go to the Arrange option from the main menu at the top
• Arrange>Shaping>Trim.
• Delete the Edges of the line not need for this by pressing the Delete Key.
• Select the whole circle with the Pointer and just go to.
• Arrange > Break Apart.
• Now the circle is bisected into two half as shown below.

• Now select each individual pieces of this circle.
• Fill colors for both as shown.

• Now remove the outline of this logo just by Right Clicking on the Box which is present at the Top of the Color Boxes.
• Now use the Interactive Transparency tool to give some light effects to this logo.
